Today our Advent study really begins, in the text laid out for us to read.
Take the time to sit and focus on the Scripture reading, the devotional, and the glossary. Remember to pray first. Ask the Lord to help you focus as you begin to go through this study.
Go through the Scripture passages slowly and carefully. This will be helpful to those for whom this is super familiar territory. If you are not a reader your "reading muscle" will be trained, helping you to build mental stamina. Just remember, while you are praying and focusing and reading, we have a spiritual goal.
We are seeking to spiritually absorb the message of the passage.
We are praying for God to speak to us.
We are longing for Him to stir our souls.
On page 44 you will find Today's Questions. Please do spend some time there. This will aid the processing of all you have read thus far.
Here is my take away from our Scripture reading today:
Nothing will be impossible with God. (Luke 1:37)
It proved true for Mary and Joseph. It's true for everyone! It's true because the "everything is possible" quality referred to in this verse is only dependent on our great, all-powerful God.
So whatever spiritual goal you have set for this Advent study, or whatever weight of adversity you are suffering under, or whatever sin issue you are struggling with be encouraged, sister in Christ.
God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. (2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP)
That's ALL grace ALWAYS given ABUNDANTLY bringing COMPLETE SUFFICIENCY in EVERYTHING! Let the words jump out at your heart and know for certain that God is for you! (See for further encouragement Romans 8:31-39.) ❤
So for today I simply want to ask, along with the last questions on page 44, ...
>> As you begin your Advent journey, what are you most looking forward to studying?
>> How are you asking the Lord to work in your heart this holiday season?
Good Morning and Happy December! Went to bed last night overwhelmed with "EVERYTHING" that comes with this month. This morning I told myself "Cindy, Take time to focus on the reason for this season." As I began to look over the study, I grew with excitement of some of the new things I was learning! Praying the same for everybody!
